Academic libraries are an essential part of higher education in Michigan. They provide access to and help with managing the overabundance of information available today.

The Michigan Academic Library Council (MALC) supports Michigan higher education by advocating cooperation and collaboration among the state’s academic libraries.

MALC strives to obtain:

Open dialog among Michigan academic libraries;

Wider recognition and collective voice for Michigan academic libraries;

Partnerships, affiliations, and library-related initiatives;

Open access to information; and

Respect for each member library’s mission and values.
