Michigan Academic Library Council

MALC 2007/2008 OBJECTIVES

From the MALC Meeting of April 27, 2007

The MALC Executive Committee is committed to taking action on each of the three task force reports; actions taken will follow the feedback and follow-up received from COLD, DIAL-M, and MCCL membership.

  • The MALC member suggestions concerning the Academic Library Case Statement and Michigan eLibrary Case Statement were sent to the chairperson of the task force.  A cover letter and final copy of the case statements were sent to the Michigan Library Association Executive Director, the State Librarian, and the Michigan Library Consortium Executive Director.
  • The Statewide Initiative Task Force Report was sent to the State Librarian who indicated that, with the current situation in funding and personnel reductions, no action would take place in the near future on the report recommendations.
  • A Storage Facility Survey was created and distributed.  No further action was taken on the offsite storage task force report as there did not seem to be enough interest or demand to move forward.
